This week we’re in Friedrichshafen, a city situated on the shores of Lake Constance in Southern Germany and one with a rich history in aviation which has seen it become home to global leaders in aviation manufacturing including Zeppelin, Maybach, Dornier and Zahnradfabrik.

The reason for our visit is AERO Friedrichshafen, an annual global aviation conference which hosts 757 companies from around 40 different countries. It is Europe’s largest trade fair for general aviation and the perfect place for us to showcase Air Race E to industry stakeholders and aviation enthusiasts alike.

Our team has an exhibit in hall A7, booth 001 where we will be meeting with visitors to the conference and discussing opportunities for collaboration and participation in the series. Air Race E’s Jeff Zaltman is presenting in partnership with Richard Glassock, a research fellow in electric and hybrid electric propulsion at the University of Nottingham and who is leading the build of Air Race E’s first all-electric prototype race airplane.

The event coincides with a number of exciting announcements for Air Race E, including the release of the official race rules and an online forum designed to connect industry professionals, pilots, manufacturers and suppliers with the view to formulating teams to take part in the inaugural race next year. The forum will be promoted on our website and social channels and will remain open for anyone interested in contributing to our series.

We want to invite industry partners to meet with us onsite to discuss unique ways of working together on what is the world’s first electric air race series. We look forward to seeing you there!
