The International Light Aircraft Design competition for 2019 is now open for entry in association with Air Race E, the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Light Aircraft Association.

This year’s competition is looking for entrants to design an electric-powered racer and is aimed at promoting major innovation in the aircraft design sector and to encourage the move to electric power in aircraft.

Jeff Zaltman, CEO of Air Race E, said; “This competition is very exciting for the development of electric air racing and the future of the sport.

“It’s fantastic to see support for new cutting-edge designs in electric aircraft and I’m really looking forward to seeing all of the entries.”

Anyone can enter from professional teams to individuals and students and next year’s conference will take place on Monday 18th November in London.

End of 2018 – Rules will be published

End of September 2019 – Entries must be submitted

November 2019 – Announcement of winners and presentation of awards at RAeS Light Aircraft Design Conference
